Spooky Paradise shines in illuminated letters on a scaffold structure — the dazzling remnant of a vanished attraction standing at the centre of a wasteland.
In this new creation, director and visual artist Philippe Quesne leads a gallery of unusual characters, the last heirs of a circus family. Deprived of animals and possessing little virtuosity in acrobatics, they nevertheless struggle to keep their enterprise afloat.
Where are we? Is this an abandoned amusement park? A haunted house, or a film set? Are these performers exhausted, on the verge of disappearing — or are they facing the possibility of rebirth?
